Lea Hutton Beasmore is an actress, casting director for extras/associate/assistant, production manager, and location manager based in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. She graduated from Anderson County High School and Lexington Technical Institute (University of Kentucky). Lea spent eight years working at Valvoline, Inc. headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky. After relocating to Maysville, Kentucky with her family, she began working at Straub Elementary School. She later returned to her hometown of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, to support her husband's career. Although happy to be back near her parents, she noticed many beloved mom-and-pop shops had closed. Determined to make a difference, Lea created a Facebook network called LAWRENCEBURG, KENTUCKY COMMUNITY NETWORK in 2010, which quickly grew. She also wanted to raise her two sons in a small-town atmosphere.
Lea worked as a substitute teacher and assistant in the Lawrenceburg area for 19 years and continues to substitute when needed. Her youngest son is attending Western Kentucky University, majoring in Sports Broadcast with a minor in Criminology, while her eldest son graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Civil Engineering degree and earned a Master’s in Structural Engineering from the University of Kentucky. Proud of her sons’ achievements, Lea pursued her own dream in film, starting as a stand-in in the movie "Hope Bridge." She soon expanded her roles to production, acting, and background work in films such as "Faces," "Bitter Sweet," "In The Radiant City," "JL Ranch," "The Ultimate Legacy" (a Hallmark Mysteries and Movie Channel film), and numerous short films including "Slipper Hero," "The Exchange Program," "Grace," and "The Cats Out of the Bag," all filmed throughout Kentucky. She has also appeared in commercials.
Lea earned her first lead roles in independent films, starring as Ms. Gleanie in "The Invasion of Kelly," as Grace in the short film "Grace," and as Paulette Goofer in "Slipper Hero." She has been featured in national and local commercials, including a PSA on drug addiction, Cherry Spas, a CMA promo, and promotions for Bristol sporting events and local sporting goods stores. Lea has worked as casting director and unit production manager (UPM) for various short and feature films in Kentucky. She served as casting director for the pilot of "Remnant 13," casting associate, location assistant, and continuity photographer for "Rayden Valkrie - Saga of a Lionheart," and casting assistant for TPTFilms Entertainment's "Messenger of Light." Additionally, she was casting assistant for the Hallmark movie "JL Ranch."
Beyond acting, Lea continues to contribute to productions as UPM, production manager, or casting extras coordinator for short films like "American Holler," "Catching Faith 2," "Fatherless," "Welcome to Kentucky," and "The Cats Out of the Bag." She has worked as a production assistant handling payment contracts for "JL Ranch" and "Mom and Dad," and helped host acting classes in central Kentucky. Inspired by the success of her community network, Lea launched the "KENTUCKY FILMS" Facebook group to facilitate communication about trailers, casting calls, crew availability, and other film-related matters in the state. She is listed with the Kentucky Film Commission as a production assistant, production coordinator, and production secretary under Production Resources.
Lea aims to deepen her involvement in acting and film production, hoping to bring more filmmaking to central Kentucky, particularly her hometown of Lawrenceburg. She believes this could revive local mom-and-pop shops through increased tourism and restore the town’s vibrancy reminiscent of when the film "The Flim Flam Man," starring George C. Scott and Michael Sarrazin, brought life to the area. Her life motto, inspired by Winston Churchill, is: Never, ever ever ever ever give up.
