Uni Park is a Korean-Canadian actress celebrated for her emotionally compelling performances, remarkable versatility, and commanding screen presence. Born in Seoul, South Korea, she moved to Toronto, Canada at age nine. From as young as seven, Uni was creating, directing, and performing original plays for her local community. Her talent was soon noticed when a television producer spotted one of her street performances and cast her in a Korean children’s TV show. Although her early TV career in Korea ended due to her relocation to Canada, her passion for acting remained strong. She later refined her skills at the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City.
Uni also holds a degree in Illustration and Design, where she explored sculpting, airbrushing, art history, and visual design. Her fascination with abstract color and composition has resulted in numerous beautifully crafted airbrush projects that showcase her artistic intuition and meticulous attention to detail. Her expertise in color earned her an award for color coordination during her studies.
Early in her career, she was among the final candidates for a co-starring role alongside Brad Pitt in Seven Years in Tibet. Though her path diverged at that time, she returned to acting and quickly amassed a diverse and impressive portfolio. Notably, Uni is recognized for her outstanding portrayal of General Chen in The Unrestricted War (2025), a role that demonstrated her strength, authority, and emotional nuance. Critics lauded her “superb performance” in the film.
Her screen credits include prominent roles in acclaimed series such as Tremors, where she guest-starred in NBC’s 2018 pilot directed by Vincenzo Natali and starring Kevin Bacon. She has also appeared in American Gods (based on Neil Gaiman’s award-winning novel), Orphan Black, Private Eyes, Taken, Condor, Mayday, and held a recurring role as Mrs. Park in CBC’s popular comedy Kim’s Convenience. Additionally, she portrayed Melanie Lum Davis in Coroner and Natalie Yoo, a devoted mother, in Murdoch Mysteries. Early on, she appeared in Dirty Work (1998), sharing the screen with numerous notable stars in cameo roles. Uni continues to build momentum with performances in films like Dancing Through the Shadow of Mao.
Recently, she played a supporting role opposite Peter Gallagher in Caitlin Cronenberg’s directorial debut Humane (2024) and delivered a powerful performance in Fearfully and Wonderfully Made (2019). Fluent in English and Korean and conversational in French, Uni brings a broad artistic background to her roles. She is also trained in ballroom and contemporary dance, as well as traditional Korean drum dance.
