Nusrat Imrose Tisha, popularly known as Tisha, is a National Award-winning actress and model from Bangladesh. She is one of the most recognized television personalities. Her films Doob: No Bed of Roses, Television, and Third Person Singular Number received international critical acclaim. Tisha began her acting career with the drama Shat Prohorer Kabbo, directed by Ahsan Habib and written by Anonto Heera. She also formed a band called Angel Four.
Tisha's first modeling assignment was for Meril Lipjel. She has featured in commercials for brands such as Coca-Cola, Citycell, Parchute, Bombay Sweets, and Keya Cosmetics. She won the Meril Prothom Alo Awards for modeling in 2003 and 2004. After a six-year hiatus, she returned to television advertising in 2014 with a Square commercial and later appeared in ads for Robi, Rupchanda, and Dabur Amla.
In 2013, Tisha was appointed as the first Public Diplomacy Ambassador (Honorary) for South Korea for two years, marking the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
Tisha made her film debut in 2009 with Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's critically acclaimed Third Person Singular Number, acting alongside Mosharraf Karim, Topu, and Abul Hayat. In 2010, she had a special appearance in Runway, directed by Tareque Masud. In 2012, she starred in Television, directed by M S Farooki, with Chanchal Chowdhury and Mosharraf Karim.
In 2016, she starred in her first commercial film, Rana Pagla: The Mental, opposite superstar Shakib Khan, directed by Shamim Ahmed Roni. Later that year, she appeared in Ostitto, directed by Anonno Mamun, opposite Arifin Shuvo. Her exceptional performance earned her the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress in 2017. She then featured in Doob: No Bed of Roses, a Bangladesh-India co-production directed by M S Farooki, alongside international star Irrfan Khan, Parno Mittra, and Rokeya Prachy. For this role, she won the Meril Prothom Alo Award for Best Actress (Popular). She also appeared in Haldaa, directed by Tauquir Ahmed, starring Mosharraf Karim, Zahid Hasan, and others.
In 2018, she starred in Bangladesh’s first anthology film, Sincerely Yours, Dhaka. Her first 2019 release was Fagun Haway, based on the historic 1952 Language Movement, directed by Tauquir Ahmed and featuring Siam Ahmed, Abul Hayat, Yashpal Sharma, and others. Tisha is set to appear in the highly anticipated Bangladesh-Germany-Russia co-production Saturday Afternoon, directed by M S Farooki, with a multicultural cast including Zahid Hasan, Mamunur Rashid, Parambrata Chatterjee, Eyad Hourani, and more. The film is a one-shot thriller inspired by the 2014 Holey Artisan Bakery attack. She will also star in Mayaboti alongside Yash Rohan, directed by Arun Chowdhury, and Holudboni, a Bangladesh-India co-production with Parambrata Chatterjee and Paoli Dam, directed by Mukul Roy Chowdhury and Taher Shipon.
Tisha is soon to debut as a producer with No Land's Man, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and directed by M S Farooki, who will co-produce the film alongside Tisha and Nawaz.
