Andrew Hyatt is an acclaimed writer and director known for historical dramas such as "Paul, Apostle of Christ" and "Full of Grace," as well as biographical films "Sight" and "The Blind," and award-winning thrillers like "The Last Light" and "The Frozen." "Sight," featuring Greg Kinnear and Terry Chen, earned Best Cinematographer, Best Actor, and Best Feature Film at the 50th ICVM Crown Awards, along with Best Narrative Feature at the 2023 Heartland International Film Festival. It received a wide theatrical release through Angel Studios in 2024.
Hyatt’s film "The Blind" debuted in over 1,700 theaters in September 2023, setting a box office record for Fathom Entertainment and achieving a 98% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It was nominated for Feature Film of the Year at the 2024 GMA Dove Awards. "Paul, Apostle of Christ," released by Sony Pictures and Affirm Films in 2018, stars Jim Caviezel and James Faulkner. Made on a $5 million budget, it has grossed over $26 million globally and is frequently listed among the top biblical films of all time. "Full of Grace," Hyatt’s 2016 release from Cinedigm, is the first film to focus on the final days of Mary of Nazareth, receiving worldwide screenings and praise for its fresh portrayal of historically depicted figures. Hyatt is credited with helping establish the emerging genre known as "Sacred Art House."
He has been featured in major magazines, radio shows, and panel discussions on his filmmaking approach. "Full of Grace" won Best Screenplay at the 2015 John Paul II International Film Festival and Best Film at the 2016 Gabriel Awards. For "Paul, Apostle of Christ," Hyatt received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Catholic Museum of Art in Washington, DC. The film was nominated for Most Inspirational Film at the 2018 GMA Dove Awards and Most Inspiring Film at the 2019 MovieGuide Awards. In 2019, Hyatt was honored with a Christopher Award in the Feature Film category at the 70th Annual Christopher Awards, joining previous recipients such as Steven Spielberg, Danny Boyle, and Ken Burns.
