Italian-American composer, songwriter, and conductor Fabrizio Mancinelli was raised within the medieval walls of L'Aquila, Italy, a vibrant town steeped in culture and history. Growing up amid narrow streets adorned with Baroque and Renaissance churches, Mancinelli developed an early passion for the fine arts, opera, and ultimately film scoring. Following the encouragement of two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Gian Carlo Menotti—whom Mancinelli later assisted in staging operas at Italy’s Spoleto Festival—he enrolled in the Music Composition Program at the Conservatory Alfredo Casella in L'Aquila. He graduated in 2006 with honors, earning a Master's Degree in both composition and conducting. Soon after, he studied under BAFTA and Academy Award-winning composer Luis Bacalov (Il Postino). Awarded a Fulbright Grant, Mancinelli specialized in Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television at the University of Southern California, graduating in 2009.
Mancinelli has composed music for diverse platforms including concerts, theater, film, television, and digital media, collaborating closely with numerous directors and prestigious institutions worldwide. His clientele includes The Walt Disney Studios, Walt Disney Imagineering, Feeln (Hallmark), Lionsgate, Rai, Mediaset (Taodue), Studio Bozzetto, Felix Film, NBC, Dick Clark Productions, The Golden Globes, Warner Bros. Animation, Good Deed Entertainment/HBO, Media RED, The Rockefeller Foundation, Leone Film Group, Lotus, and T&B Media Global.
A Sundance Film Music Fellow (2015) and BMI Conducting Fellow (2016), Mancinelli is a voting member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (Emmys), the Recording Academy (Grammys), and Asifa. He is the founder of Fab Music, Inc., a music and sound production company based in Glendale, California.
Recently, Mancinelli composed the music and lyrics for all ten original songs, as well as the underscore, for the original musical feature film The Land of Dreams (Leone Film Group), showcased as a special event at the Rome Film Festival/Alice Nella Città 2022. He also scored the upcoming thriller The Boat (Lotus) and the independent comedy Jailbird (Pilgrim Film), which premiered at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival and Turin Film Festival in November 2022. As a songwriter, he composed The Mouse Song for the Netflix animated series Green Eggs and Ham, performed by Grammy and Tony Award winner Daveed Diggs. His original score for the musical Beauty, which won Alice Nella Città's section at the 2018 Rome Film Festival, earned Best Original Score at the 2018 Genova Film Festival. Upcoming projects include the animated film Mushka by Andreas Deja (Aladdin, The Lion King), collaborating with songwriter Richard M. Sherman (Academy Award winner for Mary Poppins); the animated feature Out of the Nest (Shellhut Entertainment); the Italian fantasy feature Il Viaggio Leggendario for YouTube sensation DinsiemE (Leone Film Group); and the feature documentary Food 2050 (Rockefeller Foundation - Media RED), directed by Matthew Thompson.
Other notable works include the original score for the Disney feature documentary Growing Up with Nine Old Men by Theodore Thomas, released internationally by Buena Vista; the score and song for the animated feature The Snow Queen: Mirrorlands (Wizart Animation/Universal); the score for the thriller Coyote Lake (Good Deed Entertainment/HBO LATINO), starring Camila Mendes and Academy Award nominee Adriana Barraza; and the score for the Italian comedy Scappo a Casa (Agidi/Medusa). Mancinelli also composed the theme for the daily television show Oggi È Un Altro Giorno on RAIUNO, Italian State Television, a lively dance track that quickly gained popularity with viewers. An accomplished conductor, he has led the orchestral recordings of Kris Bowers' scores for the Academy Award-winning film Green Book (Best Picture), The United States vs. Billie Holiday, Space Jam: A New Legacy, and King Richard.
