Kim Kopf was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Her father, Frank Jacob Kopf, Jr., originally from Atlantic City, NJ, served in the U.S. Army and later managed an electronics company. Her mother, Nancy Louise Kopf, was a Pennsylvania Dutch housewife. Kim has an older sister named Lynda Louise Kopf. From an early age, Kim took piano lessons and sang in the church choir. She attended James Madison University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in film and television production. After graduating, Kim’s first job was assisting Mark Rosenthal on the film "The In Crowd." She then relocated to New York City to pursue stage acting, which led to roles in commercials, television shows, and feature films.
Later, Kim moved to Los Angeles, California, to further her career in film and television. She studied acting at Playhouse West under Robert Carnegie and Jeff Goldblum, alongside fellow students such as Ashley Judd, Shawnee Smith, and Christine Cavanaugh. Shortly after arriving, Kim was cast by Francis Ford Coppola to perform pickup shots for Monica Bellucci in "Dracula," working alongside Anthony Hopkins and Gary Oldman. She starred in the cult classic "Witchcraft 8: Salem's Ghost," and delivered notable performances in the thrillers "Zig Zag" and "Storm Swept," as well as starring in the Tony Scott executive-produced comedy "Big Time." Kim also voiced the character 'Hoverchair Mother' in the Academy Award-winning Disney/Pixar film "WALL-E." Her diverse work has been featured at the Cannes Film Festival, HBO Comedy Festival, New York International Independent Film Festival, and Sundance Film Festival.
When her father began showing signs of Alzheimer's, Kim turned to writing as a form of therapy. She wrote, produced, and starred in the web series "Behind the Scenes." She also wrote, produced, and starred in the comedy feature "Searching For Ron Ficus," which explores dating in Los Angeles, and the thriller "Delusional," which features Perry King (The Lords of Flatbush). Kim stars alongside Christopher Atkins and Ernest Pierce in the indie drama "A Tennis Shoe in the Street," focusing on a war veteran coping with PTSD. She also stars in the sitcom "Bruna in Beverly Hills," serving as executive producer on the comedy directed by acclaimed Italian director Max Leonida. Currently, Kim is in preproduction on the feature film "Experiment 77," which she wrote and will produce and star in alongside Jonathan Goldstein (Josh and Drake) and Ian Harvie (Transparent) in the horror/thriller genre.
In her spare time, Kim enjoys practicing yoga and hiking.
She is married to Joe Inch, and they reside in California with their rescue dog, Makana.
