Dr. Jenny Yip is a board-certified clinical psychologist, author, speaker, and nationally recognized expert in OCD, anxiety, and maternal mental health. Having experienced the challenges of OCD firsthand from an early age, she brings a unique blend of personal insight, clinical expertise, and practical strategies to her work. Known for her compassionate yet direct approach, often referred to as the "Velvet Hammer", Dr. Yip is dedicated to helping individuals and families move beyond anxiety, stress, and intrusive thoughts to build healthier and more meaningful lives.
With more than two decades of experience, Dr. Yip is the founder of Renewed Freedom Center and Little Thinkers Center in Los Angeles, where she specializes in evidence-based treatment for OCD, anxiety, executive functioning, and family dynamics. Her work focuses on empowering both children and adults through practical, family-oriented interventions that promote emotional resilience, healthy boundaries, and long-term personal growth. She is especially recognized for making complex psychological concepts approachable and actionable in everyday life.
Dr. Yip is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the USC Keck School of Medicine and a board-certified expert in Behavioral and Cognitive Psychology, a distinction earned by fewer than 2% of licensed psychologists. In addition to mentoring future mental health professionals, she serves in leadership and training roles within the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF), where she contributes to clinician education, maternal mental health advocacy, and improving access to evidence-based care for diverse communities worldwide.
