Biyografi
Originally from Gulfport, Mississippi, Symba knew early on that she wanted to become an actress. Her first opportunity arose after winning the "Miss Teen All-American" pageant in Miami, where a New York-based modeling agent discovered her and invited her to move to New York City. In 1991, she gained significant recognition by winning $100,000 as the Spokesmodel Winner on Star Search. Though she loved New York, this success enabled her to relocate to Hollywood to pursue her acting career more seriously. She made her acting debut on the comedy series Blossom and went on to guest star in over 50 television shows, including Veronica's Closet, Friends, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, Dexter, Mr. Sunshine, Better with You, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Life, The West Wing, Will & Grace, That's So Raven, The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of Our Lives, and Girlfriends, among others.
Symba has also landed lead and supporting roles in several films such as L.A. Confidential, All About Steve (in which she filmed a scene with her ex-boyfriend Thomas Haden Church that was ultimately cut), First Finish, Beverly Hills Cop III, and Abandoned Minds. Additionally, she has hosted numerous shows, including co-hosting the poker pilot Final Table Challenge with John Daly, The Bikini Open, and Geraldo, as well as various live and internet events.
Her extensive experience in national and regional commercials has helped her maintain focus on her craft. For seven years, she starred in the memorable and humorous "Remarkable Mouth" TV commercials, where she lip-synced rapid montages promoting radio stations. During this time, she filmed nearly sixty spots across the United States and internationally in countries such as Lithuania, Portugal, Australia, and Brazil, often performing in different languages. Some of these commercials can be found on YouTube. Symba also made personal appearances nationwide, connecting with fans of these award-winning ads.
In addition to acting, Symba writes, directs, and produces. She primarily focuses on screenplays but has also written spec TV pilots, created commercial campaigns, and authored theatrical works. Her highly successful play, the outrageous comedy "Lana's Pupil (Every Woman's Guide to Golddigging)," entertained audiences and left them wanting more.
Outside of entertainment, she is pursuing a design patent for an invention she believes will transform an entire industry.
Symba has never been married and has no children. As of 2011, she resides in Los Angeles, California.
