Hailing from Houston, Texas, Keith Jefferson attended Eisenhower High School, where he excelled as an athlete in football, basketball, and track. He earned a BFA in musical theatre from US International University/Performing Arts in San Diego, followed by an MFA in Acting from The University of Arizona in Tucson.
Keith appeared in his second Quentin Tarantino project as Charly in "The Hateful Eight," filmed in snowy Telluride in 70mm and digital formats. His fellow cast members included distinguished actors such as Samuel L. Jackson and Kurt Russell, among a diverse star-studded ensemble.
Earlier, Keith had the privilege of working with Tarantino in the Academy Award-winning "Django Unchained," playing the shotgun-wielding freed chain gang member 'Pudgy Ralph.' The cast featured Oscar winners Jamie Foxx and Christoph Waltz, alongside Academy Award nominee Samuel L. Jackson.
His touring and regional theatre experience includes roles such as Jim in "Big River," the title character in "Othello," Officer James Bailey in "Superior Donuts," and Reverend Avery Johnson in "The Piano Lesson," among others.
At the start of his career, Keith secured his first featured role as Private Andrew Boyer in the Emmy-nominated film "Buffalo Soldiers," acting alongside Danny Glover. His baritone voice played a significant part in the film’s storyline, and he performed two solo operettas featured on the movie’s soundtrack.
In the television movie "The Last Free Man," Keith portrayed Jeremiah Jessup, acting alongside the legendary Angela Lansbury, his co-star from "Murder, She Wrote." He also had a recurring guest role on the TV series "The Jamie Foxx Show."
In addition to acting, singing, and dancing, Keith conducted workshops for aspiring performers and worked as a voiceover artist and director. He lived in Los Angeles and was a proud member of Actors' Equity and the Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA).
