Isidora Bjelica was a Serbian writer of prose, playwright, and public figure. Spending most of her career in Belgrade, she authored more than 55 works, including novels, short story collections, plays, travel books, and screenplays. Her writing often delved into taboo subjects. Additionally, she contributed as a columnist to various magazines and newspapers. Her books have been translated into English, French, Spanish, Croatian, Macedonian, and Slovene. Bjelica was the daughter of renowned chess author and journalist Dimitrije Bjelica. She was married to Professor Nebojsa Pajkic, who co-authored one of her books. The couple lived in Belgrade and had two children, a son named Lav and a daughter. She passed away on 5 August 2020 in Belgrade after a prolonged battle with cancer.
