Ilya Shabelnikov, also known as Satyr, is a YouTube sensation from Novosibirsk and a former actor. In just a few months, before turning 30, he captivated the Russian online audience with parodies of internet celebrities. Ilya’s wife fully supports his creative pursuits. Born in Novosibirsk in 1990, both of his parents are professional psychologists. His passion for parody began in kindergarten, where he enjoyed imitating the grandfather of national pop, Dima Malikov. During school, he aspired to pursue a career in pop music, but his mischievous behavior often took over—he enjoyed playing pranks, fighting, teasing teachers, and even throwing desks out of windows. His parents had to transfer him to different schools multiple times due to his unruly conduct. Eventually, Ilya refocused and rekindled his childhood love for acting by deciding to enroll in theater school. In 2008, he passed the entrance exams with ease and became a student at NSTI, quickly making a mark on the university theater stage. He graduated from NGTI with a diploma in drama and cinema acting. This qualification helped him secure a position at the First Theater of Novosibirsk, where he performed in productions like "Noise Behind the Scene" and "Biloxi Blues." Despite his relatively modest height of 175 cm, he portrayed a variety of vivid characters. Since theater roles didn’t pay well, Ilya supplemented his income by performing at corporate events and banquets. At one point, he even performed at the Novosibirsk strip club Charlie, which he proudly notes paid more monthly than the First Theater did annually. In 2016, Shabelnikov left the First Theater to join the more lucrative Red Torch Theater. Over a year and a half, he appeared in productions such as "To Save the Pushkin's Junior Chambers" and played the role of Lemon in "Chipollino." Additionally, he founded Party Hard, an agency specializing in event organization.
