Born and raised in Bucharest, Romania, Iulia began her acting career in theatre and television while still in high school. At 18, she made her film debut as the lead in Elevator (Romania, 2008). This role earned the film the Audience Award across three continents and garnered her a Best Actress nomination at BestFilmFest 2009. Despite lacking formal acting training at the time, this early success fueled her passion and commitment to acting as a career. She subsequently enrolled at the National University of Theatre and Film in Bucharest, where she completed both her BA and MA in acting. During her studies, Iulia received a young talent scholarship from the Princess Margareta Foundation and was chosen to participate in the "acting corps" workshop in Hollywood. Throughout and after her academic years, she broadened her acting experience by participating in a diverse range of projects. She won Best Actress two years in a row at the international student film festival cinemaiubit for the short films "Eu și sora mea" (Romania, 2009) and "Între prieteni" (Romania, 2010), with the latter also showcased at Cannes. Among her most internationally recognized works is "Between Already and Not Yet," which was also selected for Cannes. She is well-known to wider audiences for her TV roles in HBO's "In Treatment," PRO TV's "Poor Man, Rich Man," and "A Bet with Life," as well as her numerous theatre performances. Iulia's prolific work in Romanian cinema, theatre, and TV has earned her international recognition, leading to roles in global productions such as Terry Gilliam’s "The Zero Theorem." She currently stars in "KTO," a Danish film directed by Manyar Parwani, and holds the female lead in "A Good Man," directed by Keoni Waxman and produced by Steven Seagal.
