Nandy McClean is an actress best known for her roles in Moulin Rouge! (2001), Surfer, Dude (2008), and Invincible (2001). She is also recognized as a singer and dancer for the artist Prince, having performed at notable events such as the Prince Super Bowl Halftime Show (2007), the Brit Awards, Prince's American Idol performance (2007), and his Saturday Night Live appearance (2007). Alongside her twin sister Maya McClean, Nandy was the lead singer of the band Heroine December, which released the EP Target Practice and the single "Balloon" in 2014. She served as executive producer for Prince's music video "Breakfast Can Wait" (2013). Additionally, Nandy photographed Prince and directed promotional videos for his final album, HitnRun (2015). She is the founder and director of NM FILMS (2014–present), a production company that creates, develops, and produces music videos, promotional content, and films aimed at awakening the human condition. Through visual storytelling, especially focusing on minority narratives, she strives to promote equality. Nandy wrote and directed her debut short film, Blind, which won multiple awards at film festivals. In 2019, she directed India Arie's "Steady Love" music video, earning an NAACP award nomination. She has continued producing content for clients such as Jazmine Sullivan, Lifetime, Strong Black Lead, and Netflix through 2022.
