Aleksandr Arkadyevich Belinsky, honored as a Meritorious Artist and recipient of the State Prize, was a director, actor, and scriptwriter born on April 5, 1928, in Leningrad. In 1944, he enrolled in the Department of Theatre History at GITIS. Later, he returned to Leningrad to join the Directing Department at the Leningrad Theatre Institute, graduating in 1950. He made his debut with the production of A. Borozina's "The Third Year Student" at the V. F. Komissarzhevskaya Drama Theatre. Over his career, he directed 193 performances for television and theaters in Moscow and Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg). In 1988, Belinsky directed the play "Glass of Water" by E. Skrib at the Vakhtangov Theatre, a benefit performance celebrating Yury Vasilyevich Yakovlev’s 60th birthday, featuring Yuliya Borisova, Lyudmila Maksakova, Olga Chipovskaya, and Maksim Sukhanov. He also organized a commemorative evening for the Vakhtangov Theatre's anniversary. From 1961 to 1985, Belinsky served as a production director at Leningrad Television, staging 112 performances and TV films, excluding the "Blue Light" New Year's show and editions of "Kabachok 13 stulyev." While working at the Cherkasov Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinematography, he was an associate professor at the N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory, mentoring students including E. Safonova, T. Kuznetsova, and K. Vorobyev. He led the Saint Petersburg Theatre of Musical Comedy from 1995 to 2002.
