Steve Nevil has had a five-decade career as an actor across film, television, stage, and streaming platforms. Passionate about show business since childhood, Nevil first appeared on stage in college in a production of "Death of a Salesman." After earning a BFA from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, he spent several years performing in summer stock theater, beginning with the lead role of Tom in "Tea and Sympathy." Nevil then moved to New York to study at the Circle-in-the-Square Theatre School and later with his mentor Herbert Berghof at HB Studio. Returning to the West Coast, he earned a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre from UCLA. During an acting competition there, Olivia de Havilland noticed him and recommended him to an agent. This led to numerous guest roles on television shows such as Lou Grant, Trapper John, Cheers, Murder, She Wrote, Wings, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Moonlighting, Quantum Leap, Who's the Boss?, Mama's Family, The Jeffersons, and House. Nevil also worked alongside Gregory Peck in the CBS miniseries The Blue and the Gray. In 1990, he collaborated with James Stewart on Campbell's Home Cookin' Soup commercials, which inspired him to create a one-person show about Stewart's life. After multiple revisions, critiques, and workshops, the play received approval from Stewart's children and has since been performed nationwide, including in Los Angeles, New York, and Stewart's hometown of Indiana, Pennsylvania, at the Stewart Museum. Following his co-writing of "As Always Jimmy Stewart" with Ted Snyder, Nevil wrote "Welcome to Heretofore," earning the Better Lemons Fringe Award in 2017. His play "The Night Forlorn (or, Waitin' on Godsford)" won Best Play of the Year at the 2018 Valley Theatre Awards.
