Early in her career, Sharon shared the stage and screen with industry legends such as Olivia Newton-John, Rue McClanahan, Dennis Burkley, Beth Grant, and the remarkable Pat O'Brien. Since childhood, she has been a dedicated professional actor. Before leaving her hometown of Fort Worth, TX—a city known for producing many performers—she collaborated with music icons T Bone Burnett and Betty Buckley. During the 1970s, she spent several years performing at Casa Manana Theater in Fort Worth, working alongside Howard Keel, Nanette Fabray, Ruta Lee, Ken Berry, and Brent Spiner. Since then, Sharon has built a strong career in stage, television, and film, allowing her to work across the country.
Sharon’s parents, Richard and Mary Garrison, were steadfast supporters of her acting ambitions from the start. She earned a degree in Theatre/Television from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX, and later returned to TCU on a graduate fellowship to complete her MS in Media Studies and Communication.
A proud member of SAG, AFTRA, and AEA for over 30 years, Sharon gives back by serving on the Dallas local SAG-AFTRA Board and chairing the SAG-AFTRA ProACT committee (Professional Actor Career Training), which provides panels and workshops addressing key film industry topics in North Texas. In her free time, she produces and directs short films, several of which have won awards at festivals nationwide, and has appeared in films and three cable TV shows. Most recently, she had a recurring role as Judge Amelia Sanders in the 3rd and 4th seasons of Lifetime’s hit series Drop Dead Diva, which has been renewed for a 5th season.
Sharon is deeply committed to promoting meaningful and substantial film and television opportunities for actors across the United States. As an adjunct instructor of stage and film acting at various colleges and universities, she enjoys teaching and coaching actors of all ages. When not traveling between Los Angeles, Dallas, and New Orleans as an actor and producer, Sharon provides highly sought-after taping and audition coaching services in North Texas and New Orleans. She has helped hundreds of actors—both emerging and experienced—create audition tapes for casting directors in nearly every market nationwide, from Los Angeles to New York.
