Corin Nelson is a five-time Emmy Award-winning Executive Producer, Showrunner, Creator, and senior television executive with a portfolio exceeding 2,750 hours of original unscripted content spanning broadcast, cable, streaming, digital platforms, live events, and branded entertainment. Renowned industry-wide for her expertise in show development—from format creation and talent cultivation to production leadership and franchise growth—Nelson has delivered impactful series, pilots, specials, and digital formats for nearly every major network and studio.
Currently, Nelson serves as SVP of Network Development at Game Show Network and Game Show Enterprises Studios (Sony Pictures Television), overseeing creative strategy, original format development, pilot and sales tape execution, content partnerships, and business expansion. She established GSN’s first-run syndication pipeline, delivering over 540 nationally distributed episodes across two flagship franchises. Nelson grew the development slate by 70%, pioneered second-window models boosting cross-platform ratings, and forged vital partnerships with station groups, production companies, advertisers, distributors, and brand agencies. Her Sony role encompasses ideation, format architecture, production strategy, and managing creative and operational processes from pitch to series order.
Prior to Sony, Nelson led her own production company, Curly One Productions, for more than a decade, creating, developing, and producing over 2,500 hours of content across talk/variety, comedy, game, lifestyle, competition-elimination, digital-first, and live interactive genres. As Executive Producer and Showrunner, she launched a 250-episode mobile-first daily digital series that became its platform’s top-rated show, produced NBC’s primetime holiday special "Holidays with The Houghs," which attracted 4.7 million live viewers, and developed original programming, pilots, and sales tapes for clients including NBC, CBS, MTV, E!, VH1, WeTV, USA Network, Syfy, TBS, Facebook Watch, Quibi, and Telepictures. Her collaborations include talent such as Drew Barrymore, Derek & Julianne Hough, Shan Boodram, Alexa Chung, members of the Chrisley family, Becky G, and others.
At Facebook (Meta), Nelson created and showran long-form and interactive series for Facebook Watch, consistently achieving 1-2 million views within 24 hours while pioneering the platform’s earliest live interactive programming formats. She directed creative efforts, managed production teams, partnered with product and marketing teams on technology integrations, and helped shape Meta’s cross-platform programming vision during a key growth phase.
Between 2014 and 2019, Nelson produced high-profile unscripted content for NBCUniversal. For Syfy, she created, developed, executive-produced, and showran two seasons of the multi-night Syfy Live From Comic-Con franchise—NBCU’s inaugural live broadcast from San Diego Comic-Con—hosted by Will Arnett and Zachary Levi in separate seasons. The franchise attracted significant advertiser integrations, generated millions in brand partnerships, and deepened Syfy’s ties to gaming and fandom audiences. She also executive-produced and showran USA Network series including "According to Chrisley" and "Big Star Little Star," and created the format for the aftershow "Hacking Robot," linked to Sam Esmail’s acclaimed series Mr. Robot.
Earlier, Nelson was Executive Producer and Showrunner for CBS Television Distribution (now CBS Media Ventures), developing, creating, and producing pilots and presentation tapes that contributed to the network’s alternative and first-run syndication slate—including the pilot and sales tape for "The Drew Barrymore Show," which sold instantly into national syndication and is now in its sixth season. Her syndication work also involved launching new daily formats during a highly competitive era for daytime television.
Nelson originated and launched the iconic late-night comedy talk show "Chelsea Lately" on E!, serving as Creator, Executive Producer, and Showrunner for its first three seasons and guiding its rapid ascent to cultural phenomenon status. The series ran for seven years, becoming one of E!’s most successful global titles and spawning multiple international adaptations and spin-offs.
At MTV, Nelson held an exclusive overall deal as VP of Development, shaping the network’s unscripted slate and showrunning the daily, live celebrity-driven pop-culture series "It’s On with Alexa Chung." Fully funded through Twitter and Facebook integrations, the show earned a Season 2 renewal and helped pioneer MTV’s early social-driven live television experiments.
Nelson began her career at Warner Bros., progressing swiftly from Talent Producer to Supervising Producer to Showrunner within six months on the nationally syndicated, Emmy Award-winning The Rosie O’Donnell Show. Over nearly six years, she produced over 1,000 hours of live television, managing bookings, interviews, games, stunts, music, comedy, branded integrations, and live studio floor production. Following a multi-year overall deal with Warner Bros., she relocated to Los Angeles, where she showran series, pilots, and sales tapes for celebrity-hosted talk-variety development and first-run syndication.
Throughout her career, Nelson has collaborated with major brands, agencies, and advertisers to create content at the intersection of entertainment, culture, and commerce. Her achievements have been honored with Image Awards, NAMIC Awards, Prism Awards, GLAAD Awards, and five Emmy wins.
Widely recognized as a dynamic creative leader, Nelson combines editorial insight with production discipline, business acumen, and talent management expertise. She has led production teams ranging from 5 to over 200 members, managed budgets from $20K to $35M, and developed formats that resonate across generations, platforms, and distribution channels.
She continues to innovate in network development, original series creation, pilot execution, cross-platform strategy, live/experiential programming, and branded entertainment, shaping the next generation of formats and franchises for television, digital, and emerging technology platforms.
