Kim Yu is a seasoned film and television expert with more than 25 years in the entertainment sector, focusing on development, production, and both domestic and international distribution. She launched her career in marketing and promotions, later becoming Director of Communications at Norstar Entertainment, where she led national publicity campaigns. Her portfolio features work on Miramax and Sony Pictures Classics films such as Reservoir Dogs, Welcome to the Dollhouse, Strictly Ballroom, The Crying Game, and Safe, along with family content for Sullivan Entertainment, where she served as VP of Communications. In the late 1990s, Yu shifted to production, working as Production Supervisor at Equinoxe Films, managing projects filmed throughout Canada. As an independent producer, she has handled production management, line producing, and producing roles on both studio and independent ventures. Her recent projects include the Netflix series I Will Find You (based on the Harlan Coben novel), the Apple TV+ series Jane, and the CBC/NBCUniversal series Pretty Hard Cases. Her television movie credits for Fox Entertainment's Tubi platform include The Manny, Meet the Killer Parents, Twisted Neighbour, My Husband's Baby, and Deadbolt. Feature films include The Swearing Jar (TIFF 2022), Finch, and Midland (VIFF 2025).
